Birkerøgel
This stone has formed part of a stone circle in a grave mound. The mound was cancelled in prehistoric Denmark, but excavated by the museum in Gilleleje in 1959.

In 1962, a nine-year-old boy discovers the rock engraving on the stone, however, at that time it had already been moved from its original place in the stone coaming.

The carving resembles two ships with curved sterns and keel extenders.

The lines symbolise the crew. The upper ship has 11 crew members and the lower one has 14.

It is unknown whether the man buried in Gilleleje owned the two ships or whether they symbolise the way of the sun.

Height 15 cm
