Fjerritslev
This stone was discovered by a merchant in Fjerritslev during the breaking-down of a well.

According to people who had lived in the area for a long time, the well had belonged to a farm that had been at the site for a very long time.

The carving on the stones is called a wheel cross or circle sign and in this case, the wheel cross is surrounded by yet another wheel with spokes pointing to the first one.

A similar wheel sign on a stand and being carried by a male figure has been found on the rock engravings in Bohusläns in Sweden.

We are not completely sure of the meaning of the sign, however, a large number of people consider it to be a sign of the sun and therefore of religious significance.
